While Lake Champlain exists as an outsider to the brotherhood of the Great Lakes to the West, its grandeur should not be overlooked. The Burlington, Vermont waterfront boasts a beautiful park where visitors can enjoy spectacular orange and red sunsets as resident sailboats make their way back to the marina. I experienced the good fortune of being housed at a nearby hotel as I spent 3 months in Burlington teaching a class for my employer at the time. Being home to the University of Vermont, Burlington bustles with the activity one would expect in a college town, yet possesses peaceful spots where one can enjoy nature and ponder.
